Sec 2 Class Camp...

[ As we go on we remember all the times we spent together.]" So what if this is our last time camping together???? At least we had many memories of the times we... spent together....."

DAY 1.....

The first day of camp was exciting. We were all feeling the same feeling, what are we going to do throughout the camp? Even though we will know those soon enough, we were still very anxious. At last, Speedy, Lala and Pepsi came in. We were than told to bring only our Day Pack and than help them take stuff. Very soon, the bus arrived and we boarded it. I sat with Catherine on the bus. As we were very excited, the class was very noisy throughout the trip...
At last, we reach Changi, our Campsite. But we weren't pitching our tent immediately. We went Kayaking first. It was quite enjoyable. We were taught to wear our PFD and told how to row the kayak. We went to try our PFD first. i was very scared. I had phobia of water and this trying wasn't doing any help with my phobia. We interlocked our arms together. We were than to lie down on our backs. I interlocked my arms even tighter. It was so scary!! Finally, the whole trying was done and we went onto our kayaks.
AND... OMG It WAS TOUGH... I almost went crazy!!! I totally lost my sense of direction. When i move left, it turn really left, when i turn right, it turn all the way to the right. It didn't go straight as i wanted it to. So in the end, in order to follow with the rest of the class, i went zig zag. Totally hilarious!! I was like praying: "Oh lord, please bless me so i won't capsize... bless me that i won't stray too far from the group by accident...." You know what was worse, Speedy sprayed water at me. I got REALLY MAD. So i went to take my sweet revenge. You know what was the best part, cause Speedy sprayed at other people, so others also want to take revenge... Hahaha,it was so funny. I think the only thing that kept me from giving up on kayaking was to take revenge on Speedy and the person behind me, Catherine.
After Kayaking, we went to eat our lunch. During lunch, i had gastric. It was so painful that each movement i make, my stomach felt like it is being punched. I sat down and hugged my legs together to compress my stomach. I wanted to get to my bag to take my stomach oil to rub it on my stomach. I couldn't stand and asked Raiyini to inform Pepsi to ask for permission to get to my bag. After applying the oil, I rested to wait for my pain to subside. It took quite a while.
While i was resting, my class was finishing their lunch and taking a rest before continuing the rest of our class activities. After having some rest, they were told to pitch their tents. Speedy showed us how to do it and we started to do it. Each group has an average of about 5 people. But since my group has only three people since 2 people was not here, we were told to join up with group 6. (BTW,our group is group 5) We ended up having to squeeze 6 people in a tent. It was quite squeezy but we manage to sleep together somehow. Back to the day....
After the pitching of tents, we were doing rafting. We were to make our own boat with pipes, ropes and some containers. Before that,we were taught how to tie some useful knots. At first, we were doing just 1 boat. But, some of us were just using eye power and not helping at all. It is bad as what the instructor wants is actually to see teamwork. We didn't achieve that so they broke us into 2 groups and ended up doing 2 boats. Although, there were some people who still used eye power, but we finally understood that in order to get the task through, we have to do it as a team. Well.. that was after some scoldings from the instructors and some threats. But still, there were still some people who only did eye power but the numbers declined. It was only about a handful of maybe 5-6 of our classmate who used their eye.It took quite a while but we were finally done and we started to prepare ourselves to test the end product of our rafting. But alas! Ours wasn't successful. It broke in a while after it floated on water. But what i thought was that it wasn't the end product that determined our success... It was the teamwork which we work hard to put together that determined our success.
When our rafting was done, we prepared ourselves for our outdoor cooking.... It was time for our dinner. We began to wash our mass tins which is used as our cooking utensils as well as our eating utensils. We were given instant noodles, sausages, vegetables, baked beans and sardines. We started the fire using match sticks and solid fuels. When the fire was started,we commenced with our cooking. But alas, time flies while we are having fun. It was not too long later when the sun began to set so fast that we had no idea on how it has done so. When our foods are done, we said prayers and we ate our food. We finished and cleaned up. Before long, we finished bathing and went to sleep. That was the end of Day 1......

Day 2........

I woke up early in the morning at about 5 something. I decided to go wash myself up before the others wake up. So i bathe, brushed my teeth and tied up my hair. Time passed so fast that the sun was out when i finished washing up and packing my back up. We ate our breakfast while waiting for the bus to arrive to bring us to Sungei Buloh. I sprayed extra mosquito repellent on myself and applied sunblock lotion on myself. We had milo for our beverage. The funny part is that the milo has a subtle taste of fruit punch which i seriously suspect as the remains of the not-cleanly-washed container that contained our fruit punch yesterday at lunch. It tasted quite nice even though it was new to us... I was just toying with the idea of selling this idea to the milo company when Speedy said that we should sell this to the milo company.... Well.. there goes my idea.....
The bus finally arrived and we boarded the bus. It was a long time before we will reach sungei buloh so i decided to sleep on the bus since i was very tired.... I was awoken my the sound of Speedy's voice telling us that we reached. I was still trying to shake of my "drunken" stupor when i had to go down the bus carrying all our stuff. Whew,i was so tired and my muscles need a serious good stretch. But i had no time for all this as we hurried through the trails of Sungei Buloh. We were given worksheets to work on as we walked through the trails of Sungei Buloh. We walked a lot. A few of us were beginning to tire out. Some of them were becoming grouchy... It was easy to see those who were tired out and those who still have some energy in them. Priya and i were one of those who had lots of energy in us and continued on walking with gusto. In the end, Priya and i ended up walking in front... far far in front of some of our classmates.
I got some Undiscovered mosquito bites on the way. So, on the way, i may look like i have no mosquito bite at all but it was just that i haven't found it yet.
When the trekking was over, all of us were exhausted.I was half dragging my feet up the bus and fell asleep after eating some biscuit.
I woke up on the bus and found it reaching Christ Church all too soon. I was still tired. My head felt disconnected from my body. Man, it felt like if you give me a mattress, i could just go on sleeping there for the next 12 hours. But still, this is a camp. It is not our home. So i trudge up the staircase and waited for Qian Wei to open the class door. We were allowed some time to prepare ourselves for lunch. When we finished saying our prayer, we started to eat our food. When we finished, we were told to clean up. After cleaning up, we were given free time, this time to rest and digest our food and prepare ourselves for the rope challenge at the Indoor Sports Hall,ISH for short. During our free time, some of our classmate said somethings that struck a chord in my heart. This what she said: This is the last camp we would ever have as a class. Yes, that was true... This camp will be the last camp we would ever have for our class... Next year, some of us will go to another class... It was sad... but true. So, i was thinking, lets remember this camp and lock it up in our memories as one of our happiest memories in life....
It was time for our rope challenge. We were suppose to do at least 3 kinds of rope challenge but i ended up doing 4. I was being subotage two times by especially Irshad and the other person, Harith. Irshad was the one who sabotage me two times. Even now i feel mad!!! The first time was when we had to go for a high kind. We climb all the way up and cross over to the other side by 2 logs of wood suspended only by ropes, net that is also being suspended by ropes and the 2 logs again. By right, males should go first as they are males but i ended up doing it first... Not because i volunteered but because Irshad and Harith went to tell teacher to pick me. Then the girls also said me because they didn't want to do it first. I tried to give excuses but it didn't work. So off i went to climb up to the top. As i climbed, i told myself to complete it as soon as i can and get over it. Oh my gosh.... i went up and tried to get onto the plank... It was scary.. But i manage to do it When i was done, i went on to complete that challenge. When i was done, my friends cheered for me. I was also very happy with myself as i felt myself being more able to overcome difficulties and obstacles better. The next rope challenge was almost the same except for some twist. We were suppose to go for our next rope challenge. My group thought that it was the shorter one, not the taller one. Irshad didn't want to go first but wanted to go second and nobody wanted to go first. Fed up, i volunteered and i think that was my worst move i ever wanted did in my camp. I was totally wrong. The one i volunteered for was actually for the higher one, not the lower one. I was totally shocked. I tried to change my mind but the instructor didn't allow me to do so. I completed it as soon as i could and came down feeling grateful for reaching the ground...Haha.
When our rope challenge is done, we ate our dinner. When our dinner was done, we were told to prepare a cheer or a skit as a group for the campfire. My group prepared a skit about a lawyer and a CEO of an undergarments store passing by each other. they were than engage into a fight because of a misunderstanding. Later, the CEO accidentally hit a beggar. The friend of that beggar wanted to help him take revenge. So he called up a gang that was also his friends called the sandbitches. In order to win the sandbitches, the lawyer and the doctor worked together as a team and defeated them.
During the campfire, we cheered some cheers and played some games. We didn't take note of the time but all too soon, it was time to end the campfire and wash up before going to sleep. Before sleeping, we had reflection and to reward us i think, we had disco in the music room. Speedy turned on some music and we danced. It was fun and i wished that time would stop at that moment. But still i must face reality that time waits for no man... That with the richest man in Asia can't stop time. When the time was up, we went to sleep. Charging up our energy that was spent throughout the day and preparing our energy level for tomorrow....

DAY3....

I woke up quite early. Only 5 other people have woken up beside me. I went to wash myself up before the toilet starts to have a queue. When the rest of our class has woken up, they also washed up and prepared for breakfast. Finishing breakfast, we went to the music room again and learnt about CPR. We were then chased out half way as another class needed the room. We went to the camp room and learnt about First Aid. When that was done, we did our reflection in the Computer Lab. When it was done, we packed up and left for home sweet home.

This camp made me realise that teamwork matters and to treasure our friends. It make me realise that as time waits for no man, we could keep and store our best memories tat we shared with our friends in our hearts and our minds. It does not matter if we cannot go back to our past...where our time of playing was awesome.. it is the fact that if we forgot about this memories of our friends that mattered. As the song always goes... As we go on, we remember all the times we spent together....
