mein camp expahreyansh

First day of camp, we were smuggled out of assembly. Intros aside.

Took a bus to Camelot. Everyone ignored Bao Er's attempt to commence a bomb-game.

Went kayaking there. Paired up with mein ol' bud Harith. We were the expedition leaders. It was sad as everyone kept complaining about our speed. Harith is indeed a uber-strong paddler. I was a bit disheartened to realise that I had forgotten many of the kayaking techniques I had learnt in Kayaking Star 1.

At first everyone strayed away from each others' kayaks. Including my partner and I. But eventually we got the hang of it and started kayaking closer to each other.

Afterwards we had lunch. In my opinion it was probably the best tasting meal we had in this camp.

We then pitched the tent at the campsite. Teamwork is good.

Then we had rafting. Again, most were not cooperating at first. But in the end, all of us participated.

Being the blockheaded moron that I am, I had tripped over the barrel while rolling it, thus sustaining myself bloody scratches on my leg.

Afterwards we proceeded to put the raft to the test, getting it into the water. While getting into the water, the wave had crashed on me and I fell into the water. Adding that I had scratched my thigh in the process. Which yet again sustained me a bloody wound. Seawater hurts ._.

We had outdoor cooking afterwards. After finishing our meals we went to wash the mess tins.

We then got to shower. Then we did some cheers while waiting for supper. Milo is good. Lemon biscuits are better.

Then it was lights out, thank goodness. But I kept waking up in the night for various reasons. Not a very good night for me.

Day two of camp was Sungei Buloh. Before boarding the bus, we had breakfast and revolting Milo-fruit punch. Caught up a little on sleep in the bus.

In Sungei Buloh we saw lots of interesting wildlife, flora and fauna. The highlight of Sungei Buloh would probably be the monitor lizards and the otters. They were fascinating sights.

When we went up the wooden tower, we had sort of "met" some new friends.

Then it was home sweet home. Not literally of course. It felt so good to be back in school.

We then had lunch and had CRC. CRC was awesome. Especially the Leap Of Faith. Oh man, I was so pathetic at first. Being afraid of heights does that. But I have learnt that hugging the pole and saying "no don't do this to me" while shaking my head violently does help boost confidence. A little. I finally managed to jump off after lots of my classmates' encouragements and telling myself there's no turning back anymore. It was alright. Although I did lose my grip of the white pole thing. Nevertheless I guess I'm still proud of myself for overcoming fears.

The other elements were fun too. Did not get to try the two high ones, though.

Then we had dinner. After which was campfire skit practising time.

I admit that my group really didn't do anything about the skit. Communication was tough. In the end twas' all fereestyle and ended up being all messed up.

Campfire itself was really fun. Although I absolutely detested the Campfire God thing.

After that we had disco disco thing. I sat down watching everyone, along with Tessa and Seok Yee. Tired is the word.

After that I had an awesome power-sleep. It was the first time in a camp I had slept through the whole night without waking up at all.

Then we had first aid class, followed by reflections time.

Break camp!

*EDIT* by the by it's pratasha here.
